Halki, a picturesque island in the Dodecanese, derives its name from its rich history of copper mining and processing workshops. According to mythology, the Titans were the island’s first inhabitants. In 1912, Halki, like the rest of the Dodecanese, fell under Italian rule. The island is surrounded by numerous beaches, most of which are accessible by foot. Among the most popular are Pondamos, Ftenagia, Yali, Kania, and Areta. A must-visit spot on the island is the deserted Old Village, where visitors can enjoy a breathtaking sunset from the ruins of the Fortress of the Knights of St. John.

Port of Halki

The harbor of Halki is located within the bay, adjacent to the island's main settlement. The dock has a frontage of 50 meters, with a usable depth of -7.30 meters and a length of approximately 48 meters.

The port accommodates passenger and vehicle ferries (P/V), catamarans (C/M), as well as luxury yachts and smaller passenger ferries (P/V) operating routes to and from Kamiros Skala on Rhodes.
